PhotoReport 2026.2: Online Sharing, Videos, and Geolocation
PhotoReport 2026.2 Is Here
Version 2026.2 of PhotoReport brings four major updates that transform how you document and share your construction reports. Here’s everything that’s new.
Online Report Sharing
The most-requested feature is finally here: you can now share your reports directly via a secure link, accessible from any browser — no file transfers, no third-party platforms.
How it works
From the export screen, choose “Share online”: PhotoReport generates a unique link for your report. You set:
- Expiry duration: 7, 30, or 90 days depending on your needs
- Password protection: optional but recommended for sensitive reports
- Format: interactive HTML report or downloadable PDF
Your client receives the link, clicks it, enters the password if required, and views the complete report — photos, plans, annotations, comments — from their phone or computer.
Why this is different from existing solutions
No need for WeTransfer, Dropbox, or emails with heavy attachments. The report is securely hosted with automatic expiry. A download counter lets you know whether the report has actually been viewed. And once the link expires, the data is automatically deleted.
Video Support
PhotoReport now accepts video files. You can record directly within the app or import existing videos from your camera roll and attach them to plan annotations — exactly as you already do with photos.
Real-world use cases
- Documenting dynamic defects: an active crack, a waterproofing failure, a noisy piece of equipment — situations that photos alone cannot capture
- Showing progress in context: a pan across the work area, a before/after sequence
- Evidence for disputes: certain defects (vibrations, abnormal sounds, intermittent leaks) can only be demonstrated through video
Videos appear in the report alongside photos, with the same annotations and plan references.
Automatic Photo Geotagging
Every photo taken with PhotoReport now automatically records its GPS position and precise timestamp. These metadata appear in the report and stay attached to every image.
What this changes in practice
On large sites or during multi-site visits, geotagging lets you:
- Instantly locate where a photo was taken on site
- Prove presence on site at a precise date and time — useful for inspection visit reports
- Cross-reference with plans: GPS position complements manual plan marking, especially outdoors
- Strengthen the legal value of the report in the event of a dispute
Geotagging works in the background, without any action on your part, as soon as you take a photo in the app.
Redesigned Export Interface
The export screen has been completely redesigned to bring all common actions together in a single view, accessible in one gesture:
- Generate PDF — complete report with cover, plans, and annotated photos
- Export as HTML — interactive version viewable offline
- Create ZIP archive — all photos and plans in full resolution
- Share online — the new secure link described above
The interface remembers your last export preferences, eliminating the need to reconfigure options each time.
Technical Updates
iOS 26 compatibility
PhotoReport 2026.2 is fully compatible with iOS 26. All new system APIs are supported, with no regression on earlier versions.
